Configirona SA

At the end of the Civil War, in 1939, a group of pastry chefs from Girona opened a bakery together that ended up in the hands of Pere Saguer i Burjó in 1957.

In the 1960s and 70s, the company consolidated as a national benchmark for craft confectionery and grew its business significantly.

In 1980, it brought innovations to the market with mini sweets, sugar-free Geriovit and cereal bars. In the late 1990s it gave a new product family of courtesy chocolates to the hospitality sector.

Between 2007 and 2010 the company moved to a new 7,500m2 plant built on a 25,000m2 plot in the town of Bonmatí. It is equipped with cutting-edge technology to create top quality products.

The original small bakery has evolved into a company where innovative products are manufactured without putting  the most traditional products aside  and that currently exports to more than twenty countries. With the third generation of the family now in management we are optimistic going forward and foresee fabulous growth potential.
